Drake's "Scorpion" Album Goes Platinum

Hip Hop artist Drake's new album Scorpion has been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. The project becomes the "Nice For What" rapper's seventh platinum full-length.

Incredibly, Scorpion achieved this status on its release date (July 29), meaning Drizzy moved over one million units in under 24 hours. The RIAA calculates one album unit as one album sale, 10 album tracks sold or 1,500 on-demand audio and/or video streams of album tracks.
